Doomlines – July 23rd
If you like it heavy and/or trippy, Doomlines II could be a great way to add a little strange to your Saturday. The first one last year was a raging success and jump-started local gig collective Holy Spider into life. This year they’re going bigger and better, roping in ten bands from across the UK, like super stoners, 11paranoias (featuring Adam Richardson of Ramesses) and Wigan sludge machine, Boss Keloid. And there’ll be plenty of Sheffield acts as well, including exotic doom trio, Kurokuma and beardy post-metal warriors, Archelon. Iced Out, Under, Shrykull, Wort, Ba’al and Arae complete the lineup. The Yorkshireman Rock Bar (near John Lewis) will play host to this hand-picked selection of ten of the heaviest/slowest/weirdest UK bands around, and it runs from 2-11pm. £6 for a wristband on the door and under 18s allowed if accompanied by an adult.
