‘Chip and dip’ bar could open in Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter
Plans have been submitted to Sheffield City Council for a ‘chip and dip’ themed bar to open on Charles Street in Sheffield city centre.
An application to the council states that Watt Bar, the name of the new venue in the Cultural Industries Quarter, will be a “beating heart of Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter, aimed at a wide range of customers, from lunch time trade to those wishing to enjoy an evening out with friends.
“Watt Bar is positioned perfectly to compliment the variety of activities Sheffield has to offer, being so close to the theatres, cinemas and entertainment venues Watt Bar aims to satisfy a vast array of local and tourist customers.”
The food at Watt Bar will is described as ‘chip and dip’, with most of the menu involving potatoes and “vegetable based chips” which come with chef designed dips.
The statement continues: “Due to the base product being both vegan and gluten free we feel maintaining this as an option right through to service is important while also offering a range of dips for non-vegans. This is designed to offer something quick, accessible and exciting for our customers, it will ideally be able to be taken away back to a residence or office alike or simply enjoyed inside our carefully designed restaurant bar, complimented by a range of carefully
selected drinks served from our bar.”
The bar will also have a mezzanine inside the premises, as well as a large beer garden at the front.
Watt Bar is applying to open Monday to Thursday 11:00am – 12:00pm, with a 2am closing time on Friday and Saturday nights.
