Cubana celebrates 15th birthday

Sheffield’s Cubana celebrated its 15 year birthday this weekend, an evening of pure entertainment for the guests who salsa danced until the early hours.

Cubana was a complete one-off when it first arrived in the Steel City, tucked away on Trippet Lane. Adrian Bagnoli one of the founders said: ‘There wasn’t another tapas bar in Sheffield at the time and our live music offering meant that Cubana was the perfect place for the Latino community to hang out.’

With the help of their loyal supporters, the tapas bar upped sticks and moved over to a bigger venue in Leopold Square last year. The popularity with customers, new and old, has seen them being shortlisted for this year’s Sheffield Business Awards.

Adrian and other founder Brad Charlesworth are travelling to Cuba in the New Year to soak up their spiritual home, Adrian said:  ‘It’s such a great place and we’ll get loads of inspiration. We’ll be treating that as our 15th birthday present.’
