Slow Club @ Devonshire Green

Review of Slow Club at Devonshire Green at Tramlines.
As the sun went down over the Exposed in Session stage on Devonshire Green, Rebecca and Charles of Slow Club made another highly anticipated return to Tramlines Festival.

The duo were faced with an increasingly wearying crowd; drunk on music flooding through the streets of Sheffield. This, however, did not faze the festival veterans. Not one jot.

Three uh-ohs in, and Charles’ distinctive vocals had the crowd bouncing on their blistered feet. Their hour long set – which thankfully featured my favourite track, ‘Suffering You, Suffering Me’ – somehow managed to energise the diverse crowd, rendering the majority of fans completely transfixed for the full sixty minutes.

Slow Club’s intense chemistry reverberates through their music, with Rebecca’s haunting vocals hanging beautifully in the evening air – a perfect transition to take Tramlines from day to night.
