The Last Shadow Puppets Announce Sheffield Gig

Following the recent announcement of their forthcoming album ‘Everything You’ve Come To Expect’, released on 1 April 2016, The Last Shadow Puppets have announced the dates for their world tour, including gigs in New York, LA, Paris, Amsterdam, and lo and behold, Sheffield!

The Last Shadow Puppets, the brainchild of Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner and Miles Kane, released their first and only album The Age of the Understatement in 2008, soaring straight to number one on the UK albums chart. Many feared the band would never follow up on rumours of a return, leaving behind only a brief glimpse of what these two bastions of British song-writing could create when they knocked their heads together. So when in late 2015 it was announced that the new album would be with us the following year, indie-rock hysteria followed. The Arctic Monkeys have completed the seemingly impossible task of following up, and even surpassing their success in recent years, and with Miles Kane’s solo career also finding great success since The Age of the Understatement, expectations for the new album are understandably high. The recent release of the first single from the album, ‘Bad Habits’, which is available to download and stream now, finally gave hungry fans a taste of what is to come from the boys, indicating a decidedly more guitar-less symphonic sound than their 2008 work, it is yet to be seen if this is the theme the album will follow – either way, we’re surely in for a treat.

Don’t miss The Last Shadow Puppets at Sheffield City Hall on April 3rd.
