Review Chloe Blackwell – Deadweight
London based soul songstress Chloe Blackwell has today independently released her first single, ‘Deadweight’.
A passionate, soulful debut, Chloe’s silky smooth vocals glide over atmospheric bass, delivering a sound that wouldn’t be out of place in a Bond film (of the Skyfall variety, naturally).
Its rich production lifts the darkly captivating lyrics, resulting in an overall spine-tingly, stop-you-in-your-tracks kind of sensation.
A BRIT school graduate, Chloe has been manoeuvring the the soul and RnB scene in London for the past few years, regularly playing live at venues like Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, which is the scene of her next gig on January 26th.
Reaching the Top 20 in the iTunes RnB chart just hours after release, if this first effort is anything to go by then the following album looks set to sky rocket. Watch. This. Space.
