Gig Preview: Mist, Kurokuma, Northern Oak @ The Rocking Chair
Here’s something a little different – a (nearly) all-female doom band from Slovenia! They’re called Mist and they’ll be kicking off their UK tour with a date at the Rocking Chair on 22nd September next week. Supported by Sheffield acts, Kurokuma, Northern Oak and The Miser on the Faerie Gump, it looks like a quality night of doom and folk metal to welcome the beginning of autumn…
Mist hail from Ljubljana, Slovenia, formed in July 2012 originally as an all-female band. They build their music on the legacy of bands like Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Candlemass and Coven and they have already shared the stage with the likes of Saint Vitus, Orange Goblin and Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats. Their show at The Rocking Chair is one of only five UK dates this year. The band recently signed to Dutch label Soulseller Records who released their EP, Inan’.
