Doc/Fest announces new addition
The UK’s leading documentary festival has appointed born and bred Sheffielder Luke W Moody as the new Director of Film Programming. Moody, currently the Head of Film at BRITDOC, is just as passionate for championing local talent for the world stage as he is about celebrating international documentary film and filmmakers. After his place on the Doc/Fest team was confirmed, Luke told us: “I am thrilled to have this opportunity to build and shape the film programme at Sheffield Doc/Fest, which I have attended as a delegate for many years. I cannot wait to begin work on the Doc/Fest film programme: I want to develop a platform to engage with international, urgent and beautiful storytelling from the voices closest to those stories.”
In his role at BRITDOC, Luke has earnt valuable experience managing the organisation’s international documentary funding schemes, as well as the impact of distribution releases. Throughout his career he has worked on campaigns for documentaries such as Academy Award-winning Citizenfour, Academy Award nominated Dirty Wars, and has recently executive produced Khushboo Ranka and Vinay Shukla’s An Insignificant Man.
