Hi Jaega! Looking forward to Sheffield Beer Week 2019?
Yes! It’s been such a long time since I’ve been to Sheffield. I’m originally from Nottingham, so Sheffield isn’t too far away. It’s lovely to see Sheffield Beer Week thriving!
What did it mean to you to win Brewer of the Year at the British Guild of Beer Writers Awards last year?
Very surprising to be honest! I didn’t at all expect it. Overall I just feel super proud and very glad to be part of an industry I love so much.
How did you get into the industry?
By drinking a lot of beer! First and foremost I am a beer fan. I also happen to be a chemical engineer, which helps! I started brewing professionally in 2012, since then, the beer industry has changed an awful lot. It’s been pretty amazing to see how it has grown and developed.
Where’s your happy place?
In the pub!
What have you got planned for Beer Week?
We’re going to be pouring some Wild Card Brewery beers at Indie Beer Feast (8- 9 March) which we’re very excited about. I’m also looking forward to Fem.Ale’s event at Hop Hideout, they’ve got some lovely beers on!
