Strada Leopold Square Paul Newcombe

Strada Review

This week we popped along to Strada on Leopold Square to sample their brand new weekday set menu. From Monday to Friday, from 12-7pm you can get two courses for £9.95 or three courses for £11.90 – perfect for lunch or a bite after work.

Upon arrival staff were really welcoming and remained attentive throughout the evening – our glasses were never empty! We were offered some complimentary basil bread whilst perusing the menu, which was a really nice touch (we were starving and they were delicious).

Strada Starter

Our starters came out in less than ten minutes and were lovely. Opting for the prosciutto involtini was definitely a good way to kick off the meal – the mozzarella was melted and gooey and the accompanying balsamic sauce was tangy, adding depth to the flavours.

For mains the feather steak was an absolute winner. Now this is a true test as served blue, this cut is make or break and is usually really tricky to get right. However, it was spot on and cooked to perfection. Crispy thin cut fries and a rocket side salad accompanied the dish which complemented the rich flavour of the steak.

Dessert-wise we went for a simple strawberry ice cream which was super tangy and really refreshing. We also sampled the tiramisu – with just the right amount of espresso used and with a superbly creamy texture, this was also spot on.

Not only was the food fantastic (and great value) but the staff were also excellent; they were really knowledgeable about wine, offering food pairing suggestions, and were speedy and professional, without making us feel rushed.

We will be back again!
