Gatsby Is Given A Great Mexican Twist
Shy Boy Cantina and its Mexican style menu landed at Division Street’s Great Gatsby last month. Having already drooled over the menu and a few pictures on Twitter I was giddy with anticipation come launch night, as was the whole of Sheffield it seems, as we were lucky to grab a table.
The menu reads like a dream and, wanting to try a bit of this and that, we each went for the 3 tacos for £6 deal. Served flat on a wooden platter, the fillings stood proudly in the centre of each small tortilla. And rightly so; packed with fresh herbs and colourful vegetables these fillings need showing off. Tucking in, I was pleased to find everything tasted as good as it looked and my favourites would have to be the sumptuous slow braised beef rib and the fresh cactus and avocado fillings.
Unable to resist ordering more than we needed, we also had the chilli-cheese fries. Chilli was packed with soft and tender chunks of beef whilst the cheese sauce tasted like it had been made with good quality cheese. Delicious!
Other delights to be tried and tasted include the burritos, the chilli dawg and the mushroom and truffle oil quesadilla.
