Henderson’s Relish Cook Book Success Story
The Henderson’s Relish Cookbook has been reprinted having been sold out in its first year of publication. It will be on shelves from Monday 30th November, just in time for Christmas!
The book brings together over 35 original and exciting recipes using Sheffield’s most beloved relish, created by chefs, celebrities and local enthusiasts.
Exploring Hendo’s in more traditional dishes like sausage casserole and Yorkshire brisket, to the more inventive Henderson’s chocolate mouse and truffles or the Henderson’s marinated beef and Asian spring rolls. There’s even a recipe for the ultimate bloody Mary – with Hendo’s of course!
The book also delves into the 130 year history of the sauce and threads through interviews with cultural icons from the Sheffield region, including artist Pete McKee and Richard Hawley. The latter describes his deep love and affection for Henderson’s: “I spent most of the 1990s on a world tour and got to the point I could even remember my own name at times… When I got home my wife had cooked sausage and mash with gravy and Hendo’s on it. I took one mouthful and burst into tears – the taste of Henderson’s Relish meant I was home at last with my family – the taste of Sheffield.”
