Angelica’s Tea and Cake

Atkinson’s Department Store has welcomed the opening of a new afternoon tea café, Angelica’s Tea and Cake.

A modern twist on the traditional tea room, Angelica’s prides itself on being something different from other department store cafes. Its eclectic mix of contemporary cakes, mixed with vintage favourites and loose leaf teas offers the Sheffield shopper something new.

Hidden in a quiet corner on the First Floor of Atkinson’s Department Store, Angelica’s is sophisticatedly decorated with neutral greys, creams and a splash of magenta pink, with elegant ornaments all designed by Debbie Fletcher.

So serve yourself to some delicious home baked cakes, or if you fancy something a bit more substantial they also have an extensive menu which includes a selection of hot food, fresh salads and artisan sandwiches all for an affordable price.

Angelica’s is part of the Masserella catering group, a family business that’s been going for 150 years. This is the fourth café of the Angelica’s brand to have opened, the others having received fantastic reviews from shoppers who are happy to have a new alternative destination rather than the regular coffee shop.

Aidan Masserella, the Area Manager of Masserella Catering, was enthusiastic about the café’s future: “Once Angelica’s is a bit more established, we’d love to start a live music night once a month and maybe even some 1940s themed parties!”

It’s a great place to take your mum for a celebratory Victoria sponge, even if you have nothing to celebrate.

Angelica’s is open Mon-Sat, 9am-4:30pm.
