Which Signs Of The Zodiac Produce The Greatest Athletes?

The sports world is all about signs and birthdates. In baseball, they flash signs. Football has signal callers. Basketball players call plays.

Hockey scouts simply refer to draft-eligible talent by their year of birth. For instance, first-year eligible players for the NHL entry draft will be known as 04s, because they were born in 2004. Sports teams are also known to favor players born earlier in the year, believing that gives them a physical edge over other players in their age group.

There’s another sign that sports recruiters would be wise to study prior to selecting that next player for their team. That would be the player’s sign of the Zodiac. Astrology might not be high on the list of a talent scout’s agenda but perhaps it should be. Clearly, there are signs of the Zodiac that increase the odds of a person born under that sign becoming an elite athlete.

Here’s the signs that make someone a better bet to make a career for themselves in athletics.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

When it comes to training, Aries are self starters. They love to work out and thrive on keeping their bodies in motion. They are willing to try new forms and styles of workout, because they are always striving to push the limits of what they can accomplish or endure. Aries are a competitive bunch. They seek to excel in all that they attempt.

Famous Aries Athletes: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a six-time NBA champion, six-time NBA MVP and two-time NBA Finals MVP. Peyton Manning won two Super Bowls and retired as the NFL’s all-time leader in touchdown passes and passing yardage. J.J. Watt is a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Roger Bannister was the first to run a sub four-minute mile.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Leos are driven to succeed. Their endless energy makes them ideal athletes. They also embrace the team concept and love being part of a group that is bonded together in pursuit of a common objective. If they fail to succeed, it won’t be because they didn’t give it everything they’ve got.

Famous Leo Athletes: The world’s fastest man, Jamaica’s Usain Bolt won the 100 and 200 metre gold medals in three successive Olympic Games – 2008, 2012, 2016. Pitcher Max Scherzer has won a World Series and three Cy Young Awards. He’s earned Cy Youngs in both major leagues and started the MLB All-Star Game for both the American and National Leagues. Outfielder Mike Trout is a three-time AL MVP and nine-time all-star. Kerri Walsh Jennings won three straight Olympic gold medals in women’s beach volleyball from 2004-12.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Extremely focused and willing to push through pain, Scorpios often excel at endurance sports like marathons and triathlons. They aren’t afraid to push themselves to the breaking point.

Famous Scorpio Athletes: Odell Beckham Jr. and Dez Bryant are both All-Pro NFL wide receivers. Jimmy Garoppolo quarterbacked the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl. Russell Westbrook was named NBA MVP in 2016-17.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Virgos are the thinking person’s athlete. They will put as much energy into studying their chosen sport as they will into physically training to compete. As well, they’re going to put as much attention into the nutrients they intake to ensure maximum performance on the playing field.

Famous Virgo Athletes: Basketball legends Kobe Bryant and James Harden are Virgos, as is Jesse Owens, who won four gold medals in track and field at the 1936 Olympics. Reigning NL MVP Freddie Freeman is also a Scorpio, as is NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Sagittarians are naturally inclined to keep busy and stay fit. They’re equally at home in individual sports or as part of a team. They’re also world travelers, so a career in sports can accommodate that desire.

Famous Sagittarius Athletes: Bob Hayes won an Olympic gold medal and a Super Bowl. Florence Griffith Joyner and Donovan Bailey were Olympic sprint champions. Basketball legend Larry Bird and baseball icon Joe DiMaggio are other prominent Sagiattarians.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Capricorns are the type of people who when they put their mind to it, can accomplish great things. That kind of drive can make them outstanding athletes should that be the path they choose to pursue.

Famous Capricorn athletes: Boxing’s Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and George Foreman are Capricorns. So are basketball superstars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade and seven-time Formula 1 champ Michael Schumacher.
