It was only back in January 2020 (5 months ago) that Jan was sat at his desk feeling tired, lethargic, and depressed about his body shape and weight…
Enough was enough, so he typed ‘personal trainer Sheffield’ into Google and looked for some help. He came across LEP Fitness, a private personal training gym run by Nick Screeton. Jan was impressed with the number of results, and testimonials on the website, so he decided to get in touch…
Since joining LEP Fitness, Jan has lost an impressive four stone (55lbs) and is the fittest and happiest he has ever been.
Apart from looking like a new man, Jan has lost 20 inches in total (9 inches from his abdomen), which means he’s gone from being in a higher health risk category to now being in a perfectly healthy range.
Less weight and 20 inches lost means Jan can fit into size 34-inch jeans, but most importantly, it means potential health issues, such as type 2 diabetes and the risk of heart disease, are significantly lowered.
What’s The Secret?
So you’re probably thinking how did Jan lose this much weight?
We spoke to Nick from LEP Fitness and asked him to share some of his secrets…
“Throughout the last 18 weeks, Jan has been following a structured resistance training program mainly using dumbbells, barbells, resistance bands, and kettle bells.
The emphasis has been on training large muscle groups (the chest, back, legs) and doing full-body workouts because they burn more calories, build lean muscle, and drastically boost your fitness.
We’ve focused on exercises that are ideal for enhancing your body shape: squats, split squats, chin-ups, bench press, row variations, deadlifts, and plenty of core stability work.
Alongside the workout routine, we’ve neatened up Jan’s diet, improving the quality of foods consumed, and slowly reducing calories in a sustainable way.
The combination of resistance training and creating a calorie deficit has meant that Jan has consistently lost body fat while at the same time building lean muscle.
