The Reel Steel Cult Weekender

The Reel Steel Cult Weekender launches this weekend, March 15-17. The weekend celebrates iconic films in an equally iconic venue, Abbeydale Picture House. Expect this one to be getting a mark in your calendar for next year as well folks.

It’s a well known fact that Sheffield loves a good festival. From Doc/Fest and Tramlines to Off The Shelf and Beer Week, everyone’s catered for here. And The Reel Steel Cult Weekender is the just the latest event to be added to Sheff’s impressive festival bill.

With the success of previous ventures and a clear demand for their events, Reel Steel decided to design their own festival to fit nicely alongside the likes of Sensoria Festival and Celluloid Screams. The festival aims to showcase older titles that have achieved cult status on the big screen so new audiences can experience and enjoy them.

The films will be screened at the renowned Abbeydale Picture House, which Reel Steel have a longstanding relationship with. The venue is a Grade II listed buildling with an impressive history that adds a wonderful atmosphere to the event.

The listings for the inaugural weekend include:
A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)
