A New Season for Sheffield Theatres

Here’s what’s coming up in the theatre land of Sheffield.

Two major classic plays and a regional première are amongst the new season of work announced by Sheffield Theatres’ Artistic Director, Daniel Evan. There’s also Tamara Harvey’s production of Pride and Prejudice showing this summer, followed by the production of Lucy Prebble’s The Effect, as well the co-production of Slung Low of Camelot: The Shining City by Sheffield People’s Theatre.
Freddie Fox will be making his Sheffield Theatres debut in September as the lead in Romeo and Juliet, directed by Jonathan Humphreys, who returns following his former productions of Boeing Boeing, The Village Bike and Happy Days.
On top of that Charlotte Gwinner has lined up a treat, directing the regional première of Deborah Bruce’s The Distance. Alongside Sheffield Theatres’ own productions, the Crucible, Lyceum and Studio welcome a wide variety of the best productions touring the UK.
