Yorkshire Top Of Food Pile
Yorkshire is to celebrate British Food Fortnight after a survey has stated that the top 10 favourite British dishes have Yorkshire roots.
British favourites such as Toad in the Hole, Rhubarb and Crumble and, with 73% of the vote, everyone’s favourite Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding have made it into the top 10, all originating from our very own Yorkshire.
UKTV Food’s latest ‘Great British Home Cooked Menu Survey’ supported these results, showing that 38% of people cook a roast dinner every week.
Owlerton Stadium, who conducted the survey, will be offering a ‘Yorkshire special’ menu to celebrate British Food Fortnight and Yorkshire’s big win.
“We are proud of our Yorkshire heritage and the reputation our country has for its glorious food and drink,” says Meera Patel, Marketing Manager at Owlerton Stadium. “To celebrate British Food Fortnight we wanted to offer our customers something both traditional and a little bit special.”
