Wheels of Steel – City Centre Cycling This Evening

We’re already bursting with excitement for the Sheffield leg of the Tour de France next year but if you’re hungry for some lunchbox-heavy action RIGHT NOW sees a neat cycling aperitif in our fair city…

All through July the British Cycling Elite Circuit Race Series has been taking its be-spoke (zing!) city centre racing events up and down the country and tonight they’re coming to Sheffield for the final round in their 2013 event. Imagine the trailer below but with Fulton Foods instead of rolling fields and you’re just about there…

Actually, everyone’s favourite discount supermarket is missing out this time, but the city centre route does take in Arundel Gate, Pinstone Street and Furnival gate so there’ll be a chance to pop into the Roebuck Tav for anyone suffering from hare-like overconfidence. The trouser clips go on at 6pm with the women’s race starting at 7pm and the men’s at 8.30pm and it’s free to watch as a spectator with live coverage on Eurosport – so you might appear on t’telly! More information – including tonight's schedule – on the British Cycling Elite Circuit Race Series  website .

Thanks to eagle eyed Exposed fan @Ejbe for getting us in the saddle for this particular story, and @JeniHarvey for being the first to clue us up.
