Wet Nuns Present… Detestival!
The Easter weekend is a solemn time, tha knows. Wet Nuns will be honouring the holiday with Detestival, two-days of musical terrorism curated by Sheffield's bad ol boys from 30th to 31st March 2013…
Yorkshire's self-styled Death-Dick Rock scoundrels already have a punishing 2013 ahead. They'll be releasing new EP 'Broken Teeth' in February, taking themselves out on a full UK tour AND fitting in their first US dates. But there's always room for one more gig, so why not make the 'gig' into a festival and bring the most exciting bands in (and out of) the country with you? That's band logic for you.
Luckily, Wet Nuns have choosen our fair city for this little happening, and where better to stage it than Queens Social Club? Finally, with a little help from Kraken Rum, Detestival was born. Already confirmed for the big weekend are Bo Ningen, Wolf People, Hookworms, Kult Country, John J Presley, Blood Sport, and of course Wet Nuns. They've explained the process of curation thus, "We adore and hate every single band with a fiery intensity, they are all far too good and talented and we hate and love them for it. Now we have created an opportunity for us to play with them all, in the city where we have honed our sloppy talent.” We think that means they like them.
