We Love Our Markets!
On May 15 Sharrow Vale Community Market will take over the area from the Hunter’s Bar Roundabout to Cowlishaw Road.
A total of 80 stalls will provide the best variety of local produce, arts, crafts, health & beauty products and not forgetting cakes.
In addition, two local bands, 'Frankie and the Lighthouse' and the 'Robin Hoare Band' will provide the perfect accompaniment to the day.
There will also be attractions for the kids with a bouncy castle and farm animals from Heeley City Farm, ensuring a pleasant day out for all the family.
Sharrow Vale Community Association who are in charge of the event raise money through the markets for charities, including Hunter’s Bar Junior and Infant schools.
The Association also uses money raised to improve the local area with flower filled planters, litter picking, graffiti removal and river bank clean ups.
There are plans to turn the market into a mini festival and the Association encourages anyone interested in entertaining or being involved in future market days to have a chat with one of the Coordinators on the day.
Three markets are planned for 2011 with others scheduled for July and November.
