Treacle Jr – Feature Presentation

Jamie Thraves' new movie Treacle Jr sees 'weak, silent' type Tom kicking his heels around a rootless London with no-one but Aiden Gillen's freewheeling, hilarious hobo to guide him.

It's a funny, freqently rug-pulling adventure in the vein of Odd Couple pairings like Withnail & I, Midnight Cowboy and, well, The Odd Couple but it's also the first in our series of 'Feature Presentations' we're covering with the help of Sheffield's Showroom Cinema over the next few months. That means trailers, interviews, reviews and lots of chat on our brand new Twitter-based film show. Shall we crack on? Here's a teaser –

Exposed reviewer Josh Sweet caught the exclusive preview of Treacle Jr here in Sheffield a couple of weeks ago. Read his review here.

We were also lucky enough to get a chat with director Jamie Thraves just before his Q&A at  The Showroom. We talked about the movie, its influences and movie soundtracks as well as covering The Big Lebowski and, somewhat suprisingly, Jackie Chan classic (see *) Shanghai Knights… Read the interview here.

And if that's not enough, read James McVeigh's awesome YouTube tour of cinema odd couples here.

All this and more will be ripe for discussion at the very first Exposed Film Twitter Show, which happens on everyone's second favourite social media platform next Tuesday 30th August at 7.30pm.

That's right, it's a television show on Twitter! Rob and Josh from Exposed will be missing Eastenders to provide a round up of what's at the movies, find out what you're all watching, disagree wildly about what the best Odd Couple movie ever made is with the help of some awesome YouTube clips and (hopefully) be joined by a very special guest for 40 minutes of Barry Norman-less fun. If you're not doing so already, follow us at @ExposedMagSheff and use the hashtag #exposedfilm to join in the chat.  Drop us a line in the comments with requests if you'd like us to tweet photos of hotdogs and popcorn.

Visit The Showroom website for tickets here.
