Tramlines wins best Fest!

Pulling into London last night for the UK Festival Awards 2011, Sheffield’s Tramlines  Festival won the prestigious prize for Best Metropolitan Festival from a hugely impressive line-up of the brightest and best.

Overcoming the likes of London’s Camden Crawl and Dot to Dot – both of which are ticketed fests – we caught up with Tramlines Festival Director, Sarah Nulty for reaction. “We’re really pleased to have won!” Said Sarah “I was at a board meeting on the Monday and we really didn’t think we’d win so I came back up to Sheffield. Gutted that I wasn’t down there!  Thanks to everyone in the city for supporting us – winning the award really puts us in front of people and positions us so well for next year’s festival, which we’re planning to be the biggest and best yet.”

So who would Sarah have for her dream line up? “If money was no object? Prince and Daft Punk probably!” The rumours start here…
