Toy Horses: Toy Horses
Toy Horses are a step-father/step-son duo from the valleys of Wales who describe their music as ‘Indie gems’ – and it seems they’ve had sizeable success over the pond in the U.S of A.
The pair recorded their album ‘Toy Horses’ over there and impressed a few music types along the way, resulting in them being asked to write tunes for Beluga Heights Records, who look after artists such as Jason Derulo and Sean Kingston.
The Album kicks off with ‘Play What You Want’, a light hearted pop number with echoes of Scouting For Girls, which pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the album.
Gaps between verses are filled with “ooh’s”, and “la’s”, and their sound becomes tired as I think to myself I’ve heard this all before.
I’m sure there are people out there that will enjoy this duo’s Indie/Pop stylings, but it’s not my cup of tea.
