The Waverley Gala

The second Waverley Gala will take place on August 10, from 11am – 4pm.

Including the Waverley dash which will raise money for Rotherham Hospice as well as a whole host of family fun activities, The Waverley Gala is a free event open to all residents from the new housing estate, the surrounding areas and staff from the development's Advanced Manufacturing Park.

The gala itself is being sponsored by Harworth Estates as the developer of Waverley, the three housebuilders on–site – Taylor Wimpey, Harron Homes and Barratts – and Marstons, whose new Winter Green pub opened to the public on the 21st of July.

Duncan Armstrong-Payne, Harworth Estates’ Development Manager for Waverley said: “It’s going to be a great day with absolutely loads going on; from musical entertainment from local performers, face painting, a circus skill workshops and a giant inflatable penalty shootout area. Our new local pub, The Winter Green, is open just in time to keep us fuelled throughout the day and Marston’s have commissioned a beer especially for the event. The housebuilders on the estate are even hosting a fun treasure hunt around the show homes for little ones whose parents want to have a nosy at the properties on offer!"

Colin Campbell, a fundraising manager for Rotherham Hospice said: “We are delighted that Harworth Estates have selected Rotherham Hospice as their charity for the Waverley Gala. Their support will enable us to continue delivering care through a range of services to people affected by a terminal illness. This care helps patients, their families, and carers achieve the very best quality of life and personal experience, both at home and in the Hospice".
