The Royal Market

Devonshire Green is set to play host to a brand new monthly market, which launches alongside a Royal Wedding Street Party organised by the Sensoria Festival on Friday April 29.

Devonshire Market will feature over 70 stalls as well as great entertainment in the form of live music and street entertainers.

The event will also boast a wine shop from Milestone, a cocktail bar courtesy of The Bar at Both Ends and a host of gourmet foods.

Sarah Nulty, co founder of Tramlines and Devonshire Market’s event organiser explains: “The aim with the Devonshire Market is to put a bit of fun back into the shopping experience – and to support Sheffield’s many independent traders. As well as over 70 different market stalls, the Green will be licensed for the day – allowing us to have a bar, a load of really enticing food stalls, a wine shop plus live music and street entertainment.”

The Market will be settling into a month Sunday slot from May onwards – picking up the May bank holiday as well as appearing at The Tramlines Festival in July.

Devonshire Market is a collaboration between us here at Exposed Magazine, the team who run HarleyLive and frooly.com. Exposed head honcho Phil Turner is the man responsible for booking the traders into the market – contact him on phil@exposedmagazine.co.uk. For Exposed he sees this as a very natural extension of their current work.

“We already run the markets and concessions at Tramlines and are set to launch an online marketplace in Sheffield, in partnership with frooly.com called www.exposedmarketplace.com.  The aim with Devonshire Market is to provide a great day out for the folk of Sheffield, and hopefully put a few pennies in the pockets of local traders.”

The Sensoria Street Party and Devonshire Market will run from 11am til 6pm on Friday April 29.  Keep an eye on www.exposedmagazine.co.uk for more details of the entertainment on the day.
