The Moor claim turf for Village Fete

Hot on the heels of a chat with a friend in That London last weekend where Sheffield's friendly 'village-ey' feel was discussed comes news the city will finally be getting its own village green.

Next month, the Moor will be installing the miniature  green as the centrepiece of their annual 'Village Fete' event. Sheffield-based Hallam Horticultural have been tasked with installing the horticultural wonder for the free event on Sunday, September 25.

The Moor Village Fete will be awash with traditional family entertainment and attractions including Morris Men, a brass band and a menagerie of owls, parrots, reptiles and rabbits, plus a special 40th anniversary screening of legendary Sheffield film, City On The Move (clip below).

Sheffield Lord Mayor, Dr Sylvia Dunkley, will be guest of honour at the event which takes place between 11am until 4.30pm.

More information on The Moor's Village Fete and other events in their autumn programme, including 'Fright Night's Little Brother' and the Christmas Lights Switch On are available on The Moor website.
