The Lions Roar Again

This year will see the gradual overhaul and refurbishment of the Lions Lair on Burgess Street, under new ownership from Graham and Charlie.

The gay bar had previously been leased from Punch Taverns, but is now solely owned by two passionate individuals who will undoubtedly bring the good times back to the lair.

Plan have not been finalised yet, although the owners promise their first task will be to move and improve the toilets, whilst also making them unisex.

Alongside this are plans for huge improvements to the bar and beer garden, and eventually the plan to open during the day and serve hot food.

They are also going to offer local ales on tap and are currently in talks with Kelham Island and Thornbridge Brewery.

Opening times currently remain the same, but the evening and weekend programmes are likely to be tweaked in the future.

The pub offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and welcomes all open minded people.
