The Importance of Being Earnest – Ecclesall Theatre Company
Now in its 75th year, the Ecclesall Theatre Company is celebrating with a production of the Oscar Wilde classic 'The Importance of Being Earnest'.
First performed on February 14th 1895, the farcical comedy is much loved by British audiences and Sheffield folk won’t have to travel far this winter to see it come to life on stage. Based on the adventures of two young lads in Victorian England, the play follows them as they take on fictitious personas on a quest for love. The Ecclesall based amateur company pride themselves on producing a high quality, fun and welcoming experience and currently have more than 60 members helping to make their 3 annual productions.
The Importance of Being Earnest, directed by Jonathan Vinson, will run from Tuesday 19th to Saturday 23rd November.
