The Americana Dream

The Greystones is due to put on a night of duos this month as pure Americana invades the stage to put on a stellar night of music.
Husband and wife duo, and masterminds behind Dolly Varden, Steve Dawson and Diane Christiansen take to the stage as well as St. Louis’ own Magnolia Summer.
All the way from the ‘Windy City’ (that’s Chicago, like), Dawson and Christiansen have built up a reputation for soulful, questing songs, with trademark melodies. Fans of Josh Rouse, Gram Parsons, and early Van Morrison will take to their music like a duck to water.
Also playing on the night is St. Louis’ Magnolia Summer whose sound has been described as a marriage between early REM and Crazy Horse era Neil Young. Chris Grabau is the main hub of the band with a constant stream of like minded musicians joining the cause.
Not content with just two weighty headliners, a third has been added to the roster – Scottish outfit Wynntown Marshals. Their sound is defined by their love for Americana but delivered in a typically Scottish harmonic tone.
The gig will take place at The Greystones on February 19tickets are available at for £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
