Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Of Moscow Radio

Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio is internationally recognised as one of Russia’s most prestigious and versatile orchestras. Since 1993, Terje Mikkelsen has worked with them regularly, and in 2009 he was appointed their Principal Guest Conductor. A master of the Russian repertoire, Nikolai Demidenko displays his authoritative style in Prokofiev’s dazzling Third Piano Concerto which was composed as a vehicle for the composer’s own astonishing genius. Tchaikovsky’s darkly passionate Fifth Symphony, a compelling mixture of brashness, airiness and irresistible tunefulness with a meltingly melancholy horn theme, is always an emotional journey. The concert opens with Stravinsky’s pictorial Four Norwegian Moods.
