‘Fast food’ and ‘healthy’ rarely go hand in hand. One place where they do though is fab new ‘Burrito Bar’ The Street Food Chef. 

 
Based on Pinstone St, it’s the brainchild of husband and wife team Abi and Richard, who launched the venture on February 16 – and business is positively booming.
 
“We began by travelling to festivals and events around the country, trading from a trailer,” says Abi. “It really took off so we looked at setting up a permanent pitch. A quick call to the council and here we are. People have really taken to the idea.”
 
It’s not surprising. The Street Food Chef offers tasty, hearty, healthy fast food on the go using fresh produce. It’s all done in a flash right in front of you and is ridiculously cheap. As well as burritos, there’s also tacos and empanadas on the menu.
 
“We’re giving people a different option for lunch,” continues Abi. “It’s honest, authentic, Mexican street food that you technically design yourself to suit your personal taste. It’s going so well that we’re also now launching a 'beat the queue' scheme: place your order by 11am, tell us when you'd like to collect it, and we'll have it ready for you.” We’re sold.
