Smoke Barbecue launch of Tramlines Ale and Festival Buses

Launch of the Tramlines Ale, the Tramlines 2014 Smoke Barbecue Ale Trail Bus, and University Campus Barnsley Busker Bus.

Deliciously dripping pulled pork, and a steady flow of Abbeydale’s Tramlines Pale Ale was on hand to celebrate the launch of two Tramlines festival buses; the Smoke Barbecue Ale Trail bus, and the University Campus Barnsley Busker Bus.

Here at Exposed we are your guinea pigs, and in the name of meticulously testing everything new that comes to Sheffield, we dutifully went down to Smoke Barbecue to sample a tipple of Tramlines ale and have a taste of the new meal deal on offer during the festival. We officially give our seal of approval to the Tramlines Special Pulled Pork Butty Plate, complete with heavenly skin on chips and a bottle of Pilsner, Pioneer or soft drink to wash it down with. Not bad for a mere £7.

Tramlines and beer goes hand in hand, and after having won the award for Outstanding Contribution to Real Ale from Sheffield CAMRA earlier this year, Tramlines and Abbeydale Brewery have teamed up to offer a limited edition pale ale. You’ll be able to sup on this refreshing ale at various bars and pubs across the festival, of which you can get to via the Smoke Barbecue Ale Trail bus. Linking a series of real ale pubs, from Kelham Island to Crookes and Broomhill you won’t miss a trick with this hop on hop off service. It will also be passing the Blues and Ale stage, the perfect setting to enjoy a range of real ales, whilst watching some outstanding live music.

Fast becoming a festival highlight, this year the University Campus Barnsley Busker Bus will be winding its way through the city treating punters to live music atop the bus. Acoustic sessions will be performed on top deck, treating passengers as they make their way from the University at the Western Bank bus stop, to city centre venues such as Hope Works, CADS and Yellow Arch Studios, just a 30 minute round trip.
