Shine On – Makers Make FA Cup Onion Bag Bulge

They shoot – they score! After an epic battle of the bands, Reverend and the Makers have come out on top to be crowned the sound of this year’s FA Cup.

The footie mad lot beat the likes of The Enemy, The Twang and Lethal Bizzle to the honour of releasing the first ever official FA Cup anthem. They’ll be performing their winning number, Shine A Light, at the FA Cup final this weekend.

Commenting on the win, Makers’ frontman Jon McClure said: “We said before this all started that we’d prefer our track to become the official FA Cup Anthem than to be a Number 1. It genuinely means that much to us. For us, the only thing that would be better is if Sheffield Wednesday FC  were to win  The FA Cup  next season – but I reckon we can settle for this now.”
