Sheffield Theatres' Autumn Season
Exciting times are approaching for Sheffield Theatres as they announce their autumn season programme, plus there are big celebrations planned to mark the Crucible's birthday.
The famous Crucible theatre turns 40 this November and the whole building will be the focus of a variety of events and projects to celebrate its famous history and its bright future.
First on their agenda is the launch of Sheffield people’s theatre who are holding open auditions with the hope of putting on a play to celebrate the community of Sheffield. Then there is Fanfared which is an interactive theatrical experience for everyone to enjoy. All this is capped off with a major revival of Othello and the critically acclaimed Steven Sondheim musical, Company, which runs right through to the New Year.
There is also a jam packed schedule planned for The Studio. They will be co-producing and hosting the European premiere of ‘One monkey don’t stop no show’. October will then begin their roundabout season featuring three exciting new plays about the realities of love, life and the world.
The autumn season for the Lyceum Theatre also presents audiences with some of the best productions touring the country. ‘Annie’ begins in October, as well as comedy drama ‘Seasons greetings’ to start the holiday season early. In November multi-award winning ‘Journey’s end’ begins its run and to finish the year there is the brilliant family pantomime ‘Sleeping beauty.’
All tickets go on sale on 18th June and can be booked online at www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk or in person from the box office.
