Sheffield Street Style

Our Style City blogger Claire has been out to the frontlines of Fashion Sheffield. With her expert reconnaissance skills, she's brought back photos, tips and a bunch of I-wants for you lucky lot. Here's the full report…
Street style blogs are a great place to get fashion inspiration from. It's more immediate than lookbooks, and more practical than designer kit from the catwalk. You don't see many people wandering around in Sheffield this month without knits up to their ears. And can you blame them?…
Exposed's street style photographer (i.e., me) has been on the hunt for the most stylish shoppers in Sheffield's city centre. It was a blustery Saturday when I caught these guys, but I think they sum up our beloved city's style perfectly. Eclectic, layered, and with buckets of personality.

Ellis and James make a dapper pair. I love Ellis' vintage tapestry bag, and James's tartan detailing on his coat makes a stylish change from the droves of military parkas available on the high street.

I found Hayley queuing oh-so-patiently for the Sheffield Vintage Fair, and what a picture she is! Her skinny cigarette trousers are bang on trend, especially with brightly coloured socks peeking out from under her shiny brogues.

Jade looks snug and stylish with her gorgeous leopard print coat, and I loved the way she tied her headscarf. She might be brave in her shorts in the snow, but if I owned a brocade pair like that I'd be dancing around in them in blizzards too.

Last but by no means least, I spotted Fran looking effortlessly chic in her oversized tweed coat and black snood. She's testament to simple, pared back style, and looks gorgeous with it.

I'll be trying to scout out more style style inspiration over the next few months, so if you see me, dare to wear your best ensemble and who knows, you might find your face gracing the Style City blog some time soon…
