Sheffield Is Tapped

Something’s brewing down at The Sheffield Tap… and, unsurprisingly, it’s beautiful beer. Hurrah!

Set to become the only working brewery in a railway station in the country, The Tapped Brew Co. launches this month and will be operating out of The Sheffield Tap’s newly restored first class dining room.

“We are restoring the original ceilings, skylight, tiling and grand mirrors, and then adding a showcase brewery with function bar and bottle display store – plus plenty of seating and copper topped brewer’s tables,” said co-owner Jon Holdsworth, who owns the Tap alongside Jamie Hawksworth. “No expense has been spared. Essentially, the room will combine a working brewery with a function room or extra space for punters, and we’ll be brewing two or three times a week – supplying our own Tap bars.”

Following an expansion last year, the move builds on the ever growing success of The Sheffield Tap, which offers the widest range of world beers in the city.

Their first self-brewed beer will be the simply titled ‘Ale’ – with the likes of ‘Bullet’ (IPA), ‘Libertine’ (Porter) and a summer sesh ale going by the name of ‘Bramling’ to follow. Head to The Tapped Brew Co website for more info.
