Sheffield Duo Take Europe By Storm!
Local gymnasts Bryony Page and Lucy Horan have been flying the flag for Sheffield at the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. Local lass Bryony bounced her way to gold in the Senior Women’s trampoline team final as part of team GB, while 12 year old Lucy was awarded gold in the 11-12 girls Synchro. Both girls are members of Sheffield International Venues (SIV) Trampolining Academy and train at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.
Their coach Paul Greaves said: “It is fantastic that two Sheffield-based trampolinists have returned home as world champions.” And praised the girls’ performances on the day stating “It’s a reward for the hours of training they both put in at the Academy, and I’m sure they can both kick-on from here and achieve even more success in the sport.”
Trampolining is offered across a number of SIV venues, including Ponds Forge, Hillsborough Leisure Centre and Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre. For more information visit www.sivltd.com/trampolining.
