Sheffield Cheers for Beer Week!

The launch of Sheffield Beer Week to coincide with SIBA Beer X Festival.

With scores of decent pubs and over a dozen breweries to its name, Sheffield has long been crying out for its own beer week. Certainly, that’s what our very own beer blogger, Julia Gray, and her trusty drinking buddy, Clare Tollick, thought when they decided to launch Sheffield Beer Week.

Running from 16th to 22nd March, Sheffield Beer Week coincides with SIBA BeerX festival which brings in around 3,000 visitors to the city. And, with so many beer lovers on our doorstep, Julia and Clare think there’s real opportunity to show off the very best of the city’s beer scene.

So the pair have been encouraging Sheffield’s independent pubs, bars and breweries to get involved and host beer related events throughout the next week. And with new events being listed each day, it’s all looking rather interesting!

There are meet the brewer events and tap takeovers at Shakespeares, The Rutland Arms and Tap & Tankard, cheese and beer pairings at Urban Pantry and Anchorage, brewery tours at Fuggle Bunny, book readings at the Sheffield Tap and MUCH MORE! Certainly enough to keep all you beer lovers happy anyway!

Just check out the events section of their website for full details. But if you can only make one event, we reckon the Closing Party at Stancill Brewery will be the place to be. Head down to the Neepsend Brewery from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday 22nd to celebrate the end of a very busy inaugural Sheffield Beer Week!

Cheers.
