See Emily Play at the Library Theatre – Exclusive Video

Emily Ireland gets (more) creative.

Tramlines is undoubtedly a special event in the Sheffield calendar. But every so often an artist takes the opportunity provided by the festival and runs with it. Like when See Emily Play came to us with the idea of a specially recorded performance to tease her appearance with the Sheffield Chamber Orchestra at the Library Theatre…

On Friday 20th singer-songwriter Emily Ireland will be bringing her dark and dramatic pop to the revered Sheffield venue as part of Tramlines 2012 – this time accompanied by one of the finest orchestras around. So why this venue? "I love the Library Theatre!" explains Emily. "I had my EP launch there in November which was one of the best gigs I’ve ever played so it holds a lot of happy memories for me. The art deco feel of the place really suits my style and music too." But what effect are the strings and brass of Sheffield Chamber going to have on the Theatre? "My music lends itself really well to orchestral arrangements, so the effect is going to be a really, really big sound!’

Here's the video. An exclusive performance of ‘The Train' from the debut EP 'Four Feet From the Door' recorded live at Yellow Arch studios with special guest Ben Eckersley on Cello.
