Is there anything sweeter than hanging out with your mates, listening to some great music and having a couple of beers? YES, there is! Doing all of that, but on skates.
Rolled School (formally known as Rollerpalooza) is exactly the place you can experience this bliss. This is the third event, and after a hiatus in 2011 it’s back with a new name and a stomping line up. 2010 had the Black Lips and Mika Miko, this year’s will be headed by Glaswegian electro-indie band Errors on the first night of their European tour. Signed to Mogwai’s Rock Action Records, Errors are back with their third full length studio album ‘Have Some Faith in Magic’ from which they’ve taken their next single Pleasure Places – check the video out below, surreal to say the least.
Also there to keep all you skater boys and girls entertained is 65daysofstatic's Paul Wolinski, preforming a rare laptop/DJ set under his solo moniker Polinski. His set will be geared especially towards his skate-wearing audience, so you’ve got no excuse not to be gliding with grace and dignity! Next up are Harley Tramlines favourites Ghosting Season, London indie-rockers Novella and melodic poppers and Sheffield first-timers The Proper Ornaments. In short, you’ll be dancing (and rolling) the night away.
Tickets are available from The Harley (Glossop Road), The Wick at Both Ends (West Street), HMV (Fargate and Meadowhall), Kuji (Ecclesall Road), Record Collector (Broomhill), Rocky Horrors (Division Street) and The Old Sweet Shop (Nether Edge).
