Robin Hood

Watch it:
The one fairly original property in a month filled with remakes, sequels and video game adaptations, this gets points for not being any of the above. However, as tends to be the case
when Messrs Crowe and Scott team up, this looks dreary as hell. Anyway, it’s the usual story: Robin returns from the crusades, is displeased with the way the country’s running and so becomes an
outlaw. In Nottinghamshire.
Feel it:
I do actually like the tale of Robin Hood, be it the Errol Flynn one, the Disney one, or that Men In Tights one. All good. Costner’s Prince of Thieves, less so. This might well look and feel like
a British Gladiator, and I’m sure Crowe will be doing his earnest to convey a sense of propriety and gravitas, but it’s all a bit too po-faced for my liking. It may do well, but it won’t do much for me

In it
Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Kevin Durand

Behind it
Ridley Scott

Prediction
Rob from the rich, give to the bored
