In celebration of their new album ‘Suck it and See,' out last Monday, the Arctic Monkeys will be embracing Sheffield with two very big and very special shows at the Don Valley Bowl this weekend.
Both shows take place on the 10th and 11th of June will see them preceded by some quality support acts. Miles Kane (who collaborated with Alex Turner as the Last Shadow Puppets) will take the top support slot on both days, whilst on the Friday, the intense 70’s punk rock of the Vaccines will also play, followed by Dead Sons. On the Saturday, the classy and epic Anna Calvi will appear on-stage along with Mabel Love.
Tickets for these two shows were snapped up instantly, back when they went live in February.
Not only will the band play the more heavy rock influenced ‘Suck it and See’ alongside the similarly styled ‘Humbug’ but the culturally observant and colloquial Yorkshire tinge of ‘Whatever People Say I Am, I’m Not’ and ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’ will ensure that the bands set goes through their extensive catalogue.
You’d have to be a mardy bum to miss such an exciting show. If you've not got a ticket, you can at least stream their full album for free here www.arcticmonkeys.com.
