Park Hill Apartments on Sale Soon
Award-winning regeneration company Urban Splash are on the cusp of launching Park Hill properties for purchase after seven years of development.
With 8th October heralding the first tranche of apartments being up for grabs, Exposed were invited to tour the show apartments of this hugely ambitious project.
Possibly the biggest news is the fact that Urban Splash have decided to keep the ‘Streets in the Sky’ wide corridors that were such an integral part of the flats' design. An attempt to recreate the community spirit of traditional streets within a high rise development, the 'reimagined' flats adapt these shared spaces with hallway and landing windows, thereby allowing people to take in the panoramic view of the city.
Park Hills' original architect Ivor Smith has cited this as one of the most significant and useful revisions in Urban Splash's design but equally important to the flat's future will be getting opponents of the building, which was Grade II Listed in 1998, back onside.
One bedroom apartments start at £90,000, with details of two and three bedroom lots to follow. 78 apartments will be released initially, with 26 of these reserved for social housing and the whole bottom level devoted to commercial, retail, bar and restaurant uses. You can register your interest at the Urban Splash website.
Exposed will be interviewing Urban Splash's Development Manager Mark Latham later this month and we want your questions!
