Orchestral Manoeuvres

June 8 saw local band Screaming Maldini following in the footsteps of the likes of Robbie, Dizzie and Dame Shirley Bassey with their own interpretation of the Electric Proms format.
Taking place at the cathedral as part of the summer Music and Arts festival, the event saw the band playing eight songs with full orchestral backing. Support on the night came from Watch This Fire Spread, Twins, and Robert George Saull. The whole shebang was conducted by 21 year old David Ross from the university’s music department. "Screaming Maldini and the Kookaburra" is out now on Alcopop Records.
