Northern Talent at Galtres Parklands Festival
The Galtres Parklands Festival is back for the ninth year running! From Friday 23 rd – Sunday 25 th August the event will be hosting performances by The Stranglers, Maxïmo Park, Reef and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
The festival, which takes place at Duncombe Park in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, will also be showcasing Northern talent by having performances from Leeds' handmadehands and Doncaster's Laurel Canyons.
handmadehands’ sound explores different genres of music, with a focus on a punk sound that allows their Yorkshire accents to shine through. Their latest release Either and Or has received reviews in both No-TiTLE and Vibrations magazines, and they’ll join Galtres Parklands Festival on the Oxman Stage straight from their performance at BeaconsFest the previous weekend.
Laurel Canyons from Doncaster, will join the festival on the main outdoor stage, The Duke and are influenced by American folk and country music. Their name stems from some of their favourite musical icons that lived in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles in the 60s and 70s bohemian heyday.
As one of the best family festivals in the country they combine seven stages full of music and cabaret with 100 local yorkshire beers and ciders, excellant local produce and loads to keep the kids entertained. All set in the beautiful rural setting overlooking the North York Moors it is one of the best weekends of the year with the best prices to match.
