No Grey Matter

Last month we informed you of the Sheffield doodling genius Pete McKee’s plans to kicking off 2011 with a music-themed exhibition at his Sharrow Vale Road gallery 'A Month of Sundays'. Well it’s finally here: tomorrow is the opening launch.

The exhibition is a musical based masterpiece, showcasing the work of award-winning photographer Andy Willsher who is celebrating two decades snapping some of the best in the business. These include names such as Radiohead, U2, Morrissey, Oasis and Amy Winehouse – as well local stars Richard Hawley and of course the Arctic Monkeys.

Andy’s passion for photography has been obvious from a young age, since he abandoned the idea of college for a job at Barclays’ Bank. This meant he could now afford the new Canon model camera he’d always dreamed of.

He now had all the tools he needed and hasn’t looked back since. He’s snapped some of the most iconic names in music and won numerous awards along the way. ‘The Black and White Collection’ brings some of his finest work to Sheffield for the eyes of many to feast on.

The exhibition runs until the 11th March. Head to www.therealmckee.co.uk/gallery-news/new-exhibition-the-black-and-white-collection for more info.
