McSweeney God
Neil McSweeney is a Sheffield son who has been a runaway musical success and he is finally returning home after a year that has seen him launch an incredibly well received album ‘Cargo’, and has had him playing to rapturous receptions whilst support the insanely talented Bellowhead.
Neil entered the scene as a fully-fledged artist of stature and has never swayed from his position, whilst managing to stay true to his brooding Americana roots whilst keeping up with moving times.
‘Cargo’ sees McSweeney partner up with some of the leading lights on the acoustic scene whilst adding a superb depth and texture to his sound that fits like nothing you’ve ever known.
Joining Neil is country blues favourite Vera Van Heeringen after the success of their collaboration throughout the Bellowhead tour.
Set to be an intimate and enticing show that will be nothing short of a truly special evening.
Friday March 7. Heeley Institute. Doors 8pm. Tickets £6-£8 from www.wegottickets.com/event/250885.
