It’s Hooray for Henry’s
City centre watering hole wins top gong at Best Bar None Awards
Henry’s was the big winner last night at Sheffield’s Best Bar None awards.
The Cambridge Street venue was not only crowned Best Pub for the second successive year but also took the overall winner’s prize for the first time.
Mark Simmonite, owner of Henry’s told Exposed: “It feels fantastic because we put a hell of a lot of work in. There was a lot more competition this year so we've really upped our game and added a few little innovations. Sometimes its the little things that make a difference…”
The lavish ceremony, which took place at City Hall, aims to promote and encourage the responsible management of licensed premises in order to reduce the risk of alcohol related harm, disorder and crime within the city centre.
Almost fifty venues were accredited this year, which for the first time included establishments on Ecclesall Road, as well as in the city centre. The winners were as follows:
Runner up: The Red House
Runner up: Bar Phoenix
Winner: Lava Lounge
Runner up: Embrace
Winner: The Hubs
Runner up: Aagrah
Best Behind The Bar (voted for by Exposed readers)
