'Howlerton' opens doors

The search is on for South Yorkshire’s next comedian, with Owlerton Greyhound Stadium’s Grand Comedy Howler event taking place on Thursday 27th October, in conjunction with Hallam FM.

Budding comedians will be competing for £1,000 in prize money – and the chance to show-off their comedy talent live on Hallam FM in an exclusive ten minute slot!

If you fancy yourself as the next Rob Brydon simply submit a video via the Hallam FM website (www.hallamfm.co.uk ). Five lucky finalists will be invited to perform in front of a lively crowd, and a panel of judges, on the evening of 27th October at the Stadium.

John Gilburn, Managing Director of Owlerton Stadium said: “Yorkshire has a long and proud history of comedy, and if I’ve discovered anything about Sheffielders since I have worked at Owlerton, it’s that they love to laugh! So, where better to host a competition to discover the region’s latest comedy talent than Yorkshire’s premier racing track?

“I’m looking forward to seeing the entries and judging the performances on the night… you never know, I may give Simon Cowell a run for his money!”
